First session of the Defense Data Management Committee held by Ministry of National Defense

- Data-based scientific decision-making for major defense policies, and exploration and planning of artificial intelligence (AI) requirements -

At 2 pm of December 22 (Thursday), the Ministry of National Defense held the first session of the Defense Data Management Committee* presided over by Vice Defense Minister Shin Beom-chul at the conference room of the Ministry of National Defense, and discussed defense data policy directions for accelerating the data-based Defense Innovation 4.0.

This meeting was held on the premise that data is an essential element that supports the realization of the world’s best platform government, one of the state affairs, and the cultivation of an AI-based military power through Defense Innovation 4.0.

Vice Minister Shin said, "Data is a necessary strategic asset to realize AI-based military forces, and requires systematic management. The Defense Data Management Committee will establish policies for the systematic management and use of defense data, and further speed up Defense Innovation 4.0 based on defense data.”
