Even the piercing winds around Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do on December 14 could not cool down the soldiers' passion for training.

The participating soldiers wishing for a safe Olympics moved smoothly, like flowing water, even under a temperature that had dropped to twenty degrees below zero. Having 56 days to open the largest global winter sports festival in the world, the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the Daegwallyeong troops of the 36th Infantry Division conducted security operations and integrated training under a special mission, "Perfect Execution of Olympic Security Operations."

The training was focused on the perfect execution of security operation missions and being prepared to end operations on-the-spot under the particular operating environments of Daegwallyeong, featuring severe cold and sudden heavy snowfall.
