MND, KOICA make business agreement for overseas volunteer work type of job creation

1

On January 8, MND made an agreement with KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) regarding overseas volunteer work type of job creation for those discharged from the service.

On that day, Vice Minister of National Defense Baek Seung-joo and CEO of KOICA Kim Yeong-mok agreed to cooperate so that the discharged men could participate in the grant aid project of KOICA, serving as a senior overseas volunteer group and world friends advisors.

The senior overseas volunteer group will volunteer in public administration of the dispatched countries and industrial sites, such as education, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as and health care. On the other hand, the world friends advisors will be sent to the governments and/or public administrations of advancing countries, where they will provide policy advice and technologies by professional field such as education, health care and information. According to this agreement, KOICA will recruit the overseas volunteers targeting the discharged and/or soon-to-be-discharged men and supports the prior consultation. The other party, MND, will promote this overseas volunteering project to the military, so that outstanding workforce from the military can participate in the grant aid project of KOICA.
